The usual suspects were joined by Minnie (Melissa) Garnier, erstwhile publisher of art books.• Penny Tweedie had the cover picture on a handsome new German book on native peoples around the world, and a picture of Alistair Cook on the cover of the new CDs just launched by the BBC - she had followed him around America some years ago, for his TV series.
• David Merewether brought along a copy of his new tasteful calendar (see left – double click to enlarge – and right). All in a good cause and in the best possible taste
• Don't forget it's National Novel Writing Month. Still a fortnight to reach a dénouement.
